My musical journey starts many years ago as a solo performing artist, where among other things, I performed at the first annual Edmonton Folk Music Festival and had my own concert introducing my opening act Kathy Lang (making her debut as“kd lang”). From there I started getting seriously into songwriting and also began exploring different styles of guitar working with the late master guitarist and luthier Frank Gay. In 1990, with song book in hand, I formed a group Triphoria where we performed, and toured sporadically for 10 years; released a music video “The Journey” and a CD “Speech Of Angels” showcasing some of my original works. After living in South Africa (2004-2006), I formed a group Memeza Africa fusing my songs with traditional African music and touring across Canada (2009/2011), and performing in South Africa and Scotland (2006-2009). We recorded two CDs ; “The World Shall Love Again” (2008) and “Make Some Noise” (2009). The next 4 years, saw a move from Alberta to British Columbia, and a major change in careers. By 2015 I decided it was time for a new music project and in September of that year, SoundWave was born.
I now find myself working almost full time with my group of 80 singers and 5 bandmates, as well as working on re-releasing some of my older songs and recording new songs. I look forward to introducing my music to a whole new world as well as my forever faithful fans from past years. I now have the video of my song "I Used To Be Somebody" (inspired by the residents of Eden Gardens) up on YouTube. Please check it out and share it!
